Doctor of Medical Science
Giorgi Gurgenidze graduated from the medical faculty of Tbilisi State Medical Institute with red diploma in 1985. He has been awarded a degree of Doctor of Medical Science. Currently he is a chief scientist and the head of Laboratory of Clinical and Experimental Allergy at the Medical Biotechnology Institute of Tbilisi State Medical University. Additionally, he is a doctor allergist at an Ambulatory Center of Medical Corporation Evex.
In 1988 -2003, Giorgi Gurgenidze carried out educational activities in the department of Internal Medicine at Tbilisi Medical University. In 2003-2012, he was the head of Internal Medicine and Polyclinic Departments of the Gudushauri National Medical Center. In 2002-2006 - a chief scientist of the allergy department at Medical Biotechnology Institute of Georgian Academy of Sciences and in 2006-2012 - a chief scientist at the Laboratory of Clinical and Experimental Allergy of Medical Biotechnology Institute of Georgian Academy of Science. In 2012-2015 he worked as an expert and a consultant in the field of therapy at an Intermedservice clinic (Ganja, Azerbaijan). Since 2012, he has been a chief scientist and the head of the Laboratory of Clinical and Experimental Allergy of Medical Biotechnology Institute.
He has been awarded grants and prizes in different years, including the grant for young scientists of XIII world Scientific Congress of Asthma (Japan), the grant of XV International Congress of Allergy and Clinical Immunology (Sweden) and others. He has published 106 scientific works and is a member of European Allergy and Clinical Immunology Academy.
He carries out educational activities in the disciplines of internal medicine propedeutics, internal medicine, clinical pharmacology, pulmonology, allergy and clinical immunology.
