Giorgi Maghlakelidze successfully graduated from the Faculty of Biology of Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University in 1996, and Ivane Beritashvili Institute of Physiology in 2004.

Since 2002, he has been lecturing in various higher educational institutions operating in Georgia. In 2008-2010 he was a Senior Research Fellow at Ivane Beritashvili Institute of Physiology. In 2010-2013 he took the same position in the United States, at Columbia University of New York (Department of Biostatistics), and later at Rutgers University of New York (Science Department of Animal Study).

Giorgi Maghlakelidze has received several grants. He is the author of dozens of publications, has participated in international forums, including: 36th Annual RSA Scientific Meeting, Orlando, Florida, USA (2013), 8th IBRO World Congress of Neuroscience, Florence, Italy (2011), 38th annual meeting of the Society for Neuroscience, Washington DC, USA (2008). 

Research Fields

Study of brain morpho-functional organization using different laboratory methods (testing with behavioral tasks, methods of electrolytical and immunotoxin damages of local areas of brain, electrical irritation and registration).
